I have 5 kids, 7 chickens and a dog. I can’t work for free. We pay for marketing, advertising, insurance, doc prep fees, permits, licenses, signage, social media work, parking staff, garbage cans, toilets, sanitizer and other small misc. The land requires constant maintenance. Diesel fuel, tractor maintenance and upkeep, hours and hours and hours of lawn mowing, tree trimming, mulching, laying gravel and grass seed and fixing ruts, etc from trailers and cars. We pay for the grass seed, mulch, gravel, diesel and those that help with the constant maintenance. Additionally, I, personally work hundred of hours a month with questions and needs addressed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week 365 days a year to make sure vendors, shoppers and potential vendors are happy and have all of their concerns addressed and met to the best of my ability in addition to all the other paperwork and preparation that goes into hosting a monthly market.I can not do all of that for free and come out of my back pocket for aforementioned costs( not even all are listed). Wish I could. But, I can’t. Thanks for understanding.
